Fraser Forster will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing successful surgery on his left knee, Southampton has confirmed.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper was carried off on a stretcher after 14 minutes of Southampton's Premier League clash with Burnley last weekend, and went under the knife on Wednesday.
"We can confirm that Fraser Forster underwent successful surgery this afternoon after damaging his left patellar tendon," a statement from Southampton read. "Forster will be ruled out for the rest of the season. A long-term prediction of when he will return will be made in due course.  "While the news comes as a blow to Southampton and the player himself, the club's medical staff are confident he will make a full recovery.  "In the meantime, the club is focused on ensuring Forster receives the best possible medical care and support in order for him to return to action as soon as possible.""We can confirm that Fraser Forster underwent successful surgery this afternoon after damaging his left patellar tendon," a statement from Southampton read.
