Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo is out with a facial fracture

NBA: Orlando Magic-Media Day
Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo is out indefinitely with a facial fracture from Thursday's practice, the team announced Friday morning.  Oladipo, who was hit in the face by an accidental elbow, will have surgery Saturday.  The second-year guard from Indiana was runner-up in the 2013-14 NBA rookie of the year voting, behind Philadelphia Michael Carter-Williams, who will miss the start of the season as he recovers from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Getafe 0-1 atletico madrid:mario mandzukic goal deny getafe draw

Atletico Madrid made the most of Barcelona's El Clasico
humbling by beating Getafe 1-0 to move within two points of
the La Liga pacesetters.
The reigning champions made the short trip across Madrid on
Sunday and rarely looked troubled by their neighbours, claiming
a victory to capitalise on Barca's 3-1 loss at Real Madrid 24
hours earlier.
Mario Mandzukic netted from close range five minutes before
the break to send Atletico on their way, but things should have
been far more comfortable as they spurned numerous
opportunities in the first half.
And after starting the second half encouragingly, Getafe handed
Atletico a numerical advantage when captain Alexis earned a red
card for striking Mandzukic in the face.
Despite finding themselves with an extra man, Diego Simeone's
side seemed reluctant to throw players forward in search of a
second goal that would have killed the game.
To their credit, Getafe attacked valiantly in search of an equaliser
even though they were a man down, but Atletico's typically
resilient defence held firm to seal all three points for the visitors.
Getafe coach Cosmin Contra acknowledged pre-game that the
champions would have to have a bad day if he was to outsmart
his former Atletico team-mate Simeone in the opposing dugout.
And it looked clear from the early exchanges that it would be a
long evening for Getafe, as Atletico dictated the tempo right
from the start and saw a penalty claim rejected in the 12th
minute.
Guilherme Siqueira charged forward from left-back to great
effect but, although he appeared to be tripped by Emiliano
Velazquez, referee Mario Melero refused to point to the spot.
Atletico's dominance continued and, after seeing efforts from
Raul Garcia, Siqueira and Koke denied, they finally found the
breakthrough after 40 minutes.
Vicente Guaita failed to hold on to Antoine Griezmann's half-
volley, and Mandzukic stabbed home from close range after
Arda Turan inadvertently knocked the initial rebound to the
Croatian.
Getafe began the second half with renewed optimism, though,
and only the heroics of their former goalkeeper Miguel Angel
Moya in the Atletico net stopped them from restoring parity.
The 30-year-old first swatted away Naldo's flicked effort, before
palming away goal-bound attempts from Alexis and Angel Lafita
in quick succession.
However, the hosts' hopes of drawing level suffered a significant
blow in the 56th minute as their skipper Alexis received a
straight red for striking Mandzukic on the side of his face, with
tempers flaring on both teams.
Despite going down to 10 men, Getafe continued to press for an
equaliser and substitute Baba Diawara went close just a few
moments after coming on, sending a half-volley just wide from
25 yards.

Walter mazzarri:my players have been affected by the pressure on the club

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri acknowledged his players had been
affected by the recent pressure on the club following the 1-0
win over Cesena.
Mazzarri's side went into Sunday's encounter sitting ninth in
Serie A after an underwhelming start to the season, with the
match coming at the end of a turbulent week.
Thursday saw honorary president Massimo Moratti resign – the
69-year-old reportedly unhappy at the club's continuing support
of under-fire Mazzarri.
Inter were also held to a draw at home to Saint-Etienne in the
UEFA Europa League, and Mazzarri revealed that his players were
beginning to feel the heat.
After seeing Mauro Icardi's 32nd-minute penalty edge out 10-
man Cesena, who had goalkeeper Nicola Leali controversially
sent off for his role in conceding the decisive spot-kick, Mazzarri
told Sky Sport Italia: "We really needed this win, as the lads felt
the pressure.
"I would remove the rule of the red card for the goalkeeper, as I
like a game with 11 against 11 and we had the same sort of thing
happen to us in Turin last season.
"You could tell the team was not relaxed and felt the pressure.
We were too hasty to score and therefore didn't make the most
of the chances, often wandering offside because we didn't hold
the run.
"I know they were desperate to win and prove themselves, but at
times you have to be calmer and take your time to make the
right decision.
"We could even have shot from distance, but seemed
determined to walk it into the net."
Leali's dismissal for a coming-together with Rodrigo Palacio –
who seemed to make the most of the contact – ensured Inter
had a numerical advantage for almost an hour, but Mazzarri did
not feel his side took full advantage of the extra man.
He added: "In fact, we played better before the red card, as we
became frenetic and wasted several chances which were one-
on-one.
"We cannot keep wasting these opportunities and I got angry
with a lot of things, as we wasted so many counter-attacks.
"Anyone who [has] played football knows that at 1-0 you can
always concede at any moment, even from a ricochet, so you
have to finish the game off.

Filippo inzaghi:Rebuilding milan will take time

Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi preferred to look at the positives
despite seeing his side pegged back as they drew 1-1 with
Fiorentina.
Inzaghi's men seemed to be heading for a third straight win that
would have seen them go third in Serie A thanks to Nigel de
Jong's close-range header midway through the first half on
Sunday.
And they were largely comfortable throughout the game but
Vincenzo Montella's men grabbed an equaliser out of nowhere
courtesy of substitute Josip Ilicic's superb 25-yard drive after 63
minutes.
But despite being disappointed, Inzaghi pointed to pleasing
aspects of the performance, and feels that his side is in a better
position than many would have expected at the start of the
season.
He told Sky Sport Italia: "The result is a little disappointing, but
getting this result against a Fiorentina side that has been
targeting third place since the start of the season is impressive.
"It was a balanced game and we have some regrets, as we
conceded that goal from nowhere by Ilicic. We were coming off
two consecutive victories and went close to a third, as aside
from the goal we ran very few risks and it was our best defensive
performance of the season.
"There are many reasons to be pleased with this performance,
but we conceded on our poor clearance in midfield."
The result means that Milan drop to sixth place, but they have
gone five without defeat in the league, with the one loss coming
in a close contest against Juventus, and Inzaghi believes his team
is moving in the right direction.
"I think Milan played on Fiorentina's level, I know we have to
improve and build attacking moves better, but we are slowly on
the right path," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I think we did everything we could tonight and you can't build a
whole new team in just two months. We are trying to get Milan
back to being great, but it takes time.

Milan 1 Fiorentina 1: Substitute Ilicic strikes to deny milan the victory.

Josip Ilicic stepped off the bench to fire an equaliser as
Fiorentina came from behind to grab a 1-1 draw against Milan in
Serie A.
The Slovenian provided the touch of class that Fiorentina had
been lacking by sending a second-half drive beyond home
goalkeeper Christian Abbiati at San Siro on Sunday.
Before that, there had been few signs that the visitors could find
their way back into the game after Milan had taken a 25th-
minute lead through Nigel de Jong's close-range header.
It was a game of few chances, with Jeremy Menez passing up a
good opportunity earlier in the second half, while Juan
Cuadrado and Matias Fernandez fired warning shots to Milan
just before Ilicic's equaliser.
Stephan El Shaarawy could have put Milan back in front almost
instantly but lashed wide when well placed.
Milan are now unbeaten in five Serie A games, but the result
continues their recent poor form against Fiorentina at San Siro,
where they have not tasted victory since 2010.
Filippo Inzaghi made three alterations from a 3-1 win at Verona
last time out, drafting in De Jong after suspension, while Menez
was preferred up front to Fernando Torres.
His opposite number Vincenzo Montella made wholesale
changes from the UEFA Europa League win at PAOK on
Thursday, with Cuadrado among those recalled.
Milan started the match in the ascendency, and Menez had a
chance to test Neto after two minutes but his speculative effort
was too high.
A scrappy opening was almost brought to life after 22 minutes
as El Shaarawy's wonderful turn and shot forced a remarkable
save from Neto, but the linesman's offside flag had already been
raised.
It did not matter though, as Milan took the lead four minutes
later when Cristian Zapata headed a corner into the danger area
and De Jong was on hand to nod home his second of the season
from six yards.
The visitors put in a disappointing first-half showing, and the
closest they came to finding the net was through a Jasmin Kurtic
long-range drive after 33 minutes that sailed wide.
Milan ought to have doubled the lead seven minutes into the
second half as Menez broke forward, but the Frenchman turned
onto his left foot and shot straight at Neto when he had team-
mates available in better positions.
Montella's men finally showed signs of life before the hour, with
Cuadrado taking a left-footed shot on the bounce from 30
yards, which forced Abbiati into a save to his right, and
Fernandez blasted just over soon after.
But Fiorentina's persistence paid off as they equalised after 64
minutes through substitute Ilicic, who took aim from 25 yards
out to fire a precise low drive into the bottom-right corner and
beyond the despairing dive of Abbiati.

McCarthy does not regret Liverpool snub

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has revealed he
does not regret choosing the Super Hoops over Liverpool.
McCarthy, 24, chose to join QPR over Liverpool in the
summer, and made his club debut in the 3-2 defeat to the Reds
last week.
The 24-year-old is prepared for Monday's crucial league fixture
against Aston Villa at Loftus Road, but Harry Redknapp may
choose to replace him with Rob Green, who has been declared
fit after recovering from illness.
"I don't regret the decision I have made up to now," said
McCarthy.
"Harry was a big part of me coming here. The things he said to
me swayed my decision.
"I spoke to both managers and everything the gaffer here said to
me I liked, and that's why I'm here now.
"Coming to a new club you want to get your first game under
your belt and I'm over the moon to get that first game out of the
way.
"The main focus for me now is to keep training hard week in,
week out and give the manager a decision to make."
Now then, did McCarthy make the right decision in snubbing
Liverpool for Queens Park Rangers?
In short, yes. The former Reading shot-stopper will, eventually,
replace Green as the No. 1 goalkeeper for QPR.

Mandzukic:i rejected EPL in favour of the la liga champions Atletico madrid

Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic has
revealed he rejected a potential move to the English
Premier League in favour of joining the La
Liga champions.
The Croatia international, who joined Atletico from
Bayern Munich in a deal worth €15 million in the
summer, was heavily linked with Premier League
trio Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Mandzukic rejected more lucrative offers to link up
with the ingenious Diego Simeone at the Estadio
Vicente Calderon, and understandably so.
Under Simeone, Atletico pulled off the impossible,
holding off both Barcelona and Real Madrid to win
La Liga, while also reaching the UEFA Champions
League final only to lose to their bitter inner-city rivals.
It was a magnificent campaign for Atleti, which ultimately paved
the way for Diego Costa and Filipe Luis to join Premier League
giants Chelsea.
"I had better offers than from Atletico," Mandzukic said.
"There were calls from the UK that interested me, but I believe
that their style of football is simply not my way. There were also
interest from Italy and some concrete offers from Russia.
"I'm very pleased with everything. I couldn't choose a better
path after leaving Bayern Munich. The fans here accepted me
immediately.
"Atletico was the best possible decision for me at this stage of
my career."
The former Dinamo Zagreb star added: "Simeone was the key to
me coming to Atletico.
"His style and passion, with so much success, they are the things
that inspire me. I love guys like him, he's a real fighter, direct
and transparent who is not fake and always says what he really
thinks."
Mandzukic has tallied five goals in 11 appearances in all
competitions for Atletico madrid this season.

Liverpool and Spurs battle for Berahino

Liverpool are readying January bid for West Bromwich striker
Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Mail.
The Reds are on the lookout for a new striker due to Mario
Balotelli's disappointing start to his career at Anfield and the
England Under-21 star is the first name on their hit-list.
Tottenham are another Premier League side showing interest in
Berahino, who is reportedly valued at £25 million.
The West Bromwich graduate started showing signs of promise
last season, when he scored 5 goals in 32 Premier League
outings, before further impressing in the new campaign.
Berahino went on to score 7 goals in first 9 Premiership fixtures
this season, so no wonder he is already being linked with a big
club move.
The 21-year-old scored an injury-time penalty to help the
Baggies avoid home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Peter Cech link up with Besiktas move

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is seriously considering the
possibility of joining Besiktas, the player's agent has revealed.
The experienced shot-stopper is not too happy at playing second
fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge and he has hinted
that he is prepared to leave the Blues at the earliest opportunity.
Turkish giants Besiktas appear to be in the running for the
player's signature and one of Cech's agents has moved to
confirm that the Black Eagles indeed have a chance of landing
his client.
"We have not held talks yet," agent Mithat Halis told reporters.
"However, Chelsea have recently made an agreement with
Besiktas. Chelsea have similar deals with Vitesse and other clubs.
"If Cech does become available Besiktas would become a
potential destination."
Petr Cech has spent the best years of his career at Stamford
Bridge, having joined from Rennes back in 2004, winning
numerous domestic and European trophies with the Blues.
The 32-year-old has made a total of 327 Premier League
appearances for Chelsea, while featuring in another 81
Champions League matches.

Tottenham boss Pochettino rules out Paulinho loan move to his former club corinthians

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has rubbished
reports linking Paulinho with a return to Brazilian
giants Corinthians.
The Brazil international, who joined Spurs from Corinthians for
around £17 million in the summer of 2013, has failed to tie
down a place in Pochettino's starting XI despite the departure of
Sandro to QPR.
Instead, Pochettino has preferred French enforcer Étienne
Capoue, Belgium international Mousa Dembélé, and youth
academy graduate Ryan Mason.
When asked whether Paulinho could rejoin Corinthians on a
possible loan deal, Pochettino said: "No. No Tottenham player,
including Paulinho, will be loaned to Brazil. There is no chance.
"Paulinho arrived late, one of the last players to join the squad
after the World Cup.
"There isn't any problem. He is training and doing well, it's just a
technical decision."

Aston Villa have option to sign Cleverley from Man Utd in January

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has confirmed the club
have an option to sign Tom Cleverley from Manchester
United in January.
Cleverley, whose current deal at Old Trafford is set to
expire at the end of the season, joined Villa on loan in the
summer.
The England international, 25, has featured in five English
Premier League matches for Villa this season, completing
over 88 percent of his total passes.
"We have an option on Tom," Lambert said. "We have not
gone into great detail but he has played well. He was the
one lad who was busy on Saturday [at Everton], he has so much
to offer.
"He's a good guy, a good professional and does everything high
tempo even when he trains.
"Whatever happens in January will happen, the option is there
but we still have a couple of months to go.
"I just want him to play well here and enjoy it and that's what he
is doing which is half the battle.
"It's not been an easy start playing at a new club but come
January we will see."

Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea: Robin van Persie scored a late leveller to steal a point.

Thibaut Courtois kept out the effort from his Belgium team-mate but could only parry the ball back into the area, where a grateful Van Persie pounced to smash the lose ball home and earn United a share of the spoils.  Chelsea looked set to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points after Drogba rose highest to head home a Cesc Fabregas corner in the 53rd minute.  However, it was Louis van Gaal who was smiling at full time, after his side showed their resolve to find a late leveller. Robin van Persie smashed home a 93rd minute equaliser to earn Manchester United a 1-1 draw against Premier League leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford.  Having twice been denied by saves from the excellent Thibaut Courtois, the Dutch striker finally got the better of the brilliant Belgian, rifling in a close range rebound after Courtois had made a diving save to deny Marouane Fellaini.  The Blues had looked set to move six points clear at the top of the Premier League - and eight clear of champions Manchester City - after Didier Drogba's 52nd minute header.  The 36-year-old met Cesc Fabregas' inswinging corner with a towering leap and a bullet his effort goalwards, leaving David De Gea with no chance to react.  For much of the match Jose Mourinho's men had looked like champions-elect, but after Branislav Ivanovic's 93rd minute booking saw him sent off for two yellow cards, van Persie's strike meant they dropped points for just the second time this term.

Burnley 1-3 Everton: Lukaku & Eto’o punish struggling Clarets

Samuel Eto’o scored twice, could have had a hat-trick but for a post, and was the most influential figure on the pitch. Romelu Lukaku contributed to a Burnley equaliser before making amends nine minutes later with a goal of his own to send Everton into half-time with a lead. Eto’o, who was waiting in Paris to sign for Liverpool in August only for Brendan Rodgers to decide that Mario Balotelli was a better option, was at the centre of everything that Everton did well.

Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle:sammy ameobi scored his first Goal of the season

Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle: Spurs sunk by Ameobi & Perez
Emmanuel Adebayor put Spurs ahead in the first-half,but Sammy Ameobi made an instant impact by equalising seven seconds after his introduction at the start of the second half, and fellow substitute Remy Cabella laid on Ayoze Perez's maiden Newcastle goal to complete an impressive fightback.
A win for Newcastle at White Hart Lane brought them within a point of Spurs in the league table - not bad for a club enduring a crisis start to the season.  At this stage in the 2014/15 term, both sides are underachieving, but Spurs settled their nerves early in the second half with an 18th minute goal from Adebayor.  Tottenham had enjoyed 76% of possession after 15 minutes, and Adebayor started and finished a smart move in the Newcastle box to put the home side a goal to the good.  Newcastle had started the game looking disinterested. The Magpies looked reluctant to press Spurs, who were happy to control possession and looked comfortable on the ball.

Diego Costa set to start forChelsea against ManchesterUnited – despite injury

Diego Costa is likely to start in Chelsea's
Premier League clash against Manchester
United on Sunday – despite his ongoing
hamstring issues.
The striker is believed to have completed a
training session with The Blues on Saturday,
and is ready to play in the game at Old Trafford.
Costa has been suffering with a hamstring
problem since the end of last season while
playing for Atletico Madrid, with the 25-year-old
being forced to spend a night in hospital with a
virus last week.
Despite his recent health problems, though, the
Brazilian is thought to have done enough to
convince Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that he is
fit enough to feature against United.
The news will come as a relief for the
Portuguese tactician after Loic Remy was ruled
out of the match with a groin injury he
sustained in Chelsea's Champions League win
over Maribor in midweek.
