Stoke City vs Southampton, Capital One Cup match report –
Southampton's in-form striker Graziano Pelle scores twice to
take Ronald Koeman's side into quarter-finals
This was a remarkable cup tie. Southampton were all but
through – their first half performance had been brilliant and it
merited a two-goal lead. Stoke roared back into contention
scoring twice themselves.
Then with extra time looming – but everyone wanting more –
Peter Crouch, who had only been introduced as a substitute
quarter of an hour before, was issued with a second yellow card.
From the resulting free kick, Southampton found a winner.
Finally, all was settled.
